Justin Burge, Riverton High School, student of the monthBeauty pageants aren’t just for girls. Justin Burge competed in the first ever Mr. Riverton pageant this past year. Only students from Riverton High School who were nominated by teachers were allowed to compete. During the talent portion of the pageant, Justin chose to dance. He scored the highest points for his dance and was the top scorer in the formal wear and question categories. Justin went on to win the Mr. Riverton pageant. He was most recently named student of the month for March.

Justin is one busy student. He serves and participates in student council, Teens Against Drugs and Alcohol (TADAA), National Honor Society, teen court, musical, concert choir, jazz choir, madrigals, fall play, math team, Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering team (WYSE), Spanish club, Hawk Pride and the dance team.

During his four years at Riverton High School, Justin has been presented with many awards including Illinois State Scholar, first place in the biology section of WYSE regional, musical theater award, Spanish award, Thespian, and dance team co-captain.

Justin plans to attend Lincoln Land Community College and major in biology.

Justin was chosen as the March Student-of-the-Month by faculty and staff based on attendance, academics, effort, conduct, cooperation, dependability, leadership, school involvement, and service to others. He will receive $50 from INB and will eligible for 2017-2018 Student of the Year honors at graduation.
