Starting a new business can be overwhelming, so an upcoming event in Bloomington will walk local entrepreneurs through the necessary steps.

Illinois National Bank is sponsoring “How to Start a Small Business in Illinois,” a luncheon-seminar presented by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Illinois Wesleyan University from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018.

During the two-hour session, the SBDC will go in depth about the planning necessary for entrepreneurs to turn their vision into reality, including topics like:

• Business Feasibility and Planning
• Choosing and Registering your Business Name and Structure
• Marketing Your Business
• Gaining Access to Financial Resources
• Accounting and Financial Record Keeping

As Vice President, Commercial Lending for INB Bloomington, I look forward to attending this event and providing insight on what entrepreneurs need to do to gain access to financial resources.

Starting a new business is not necessarily difficult, but it’s a new experience for most people, so my hope is that attendees will leave confident and knowledgeable about what they need to do to take the next step in pursuing their dream.
