Pleasant Plains High School certainly had an epic 2017. The varsity football team scored its way into the final round to play for the 3A State Championship in DeKalb. While the Cardinals ended the season as runner up, senior player, Kevin Ingram, exploded on the field. He earned 1st Team All-Conference for both 2016 and 2017 seasons, and he now holds the record for most interceptions in a game, season and career for PPHS. With 2017 coming to an end, Kevin now can include Senior-of-the-Month honors in his resume.
In addition to playing football, Kevin is a member of the basketball team, track and field team, Beta club, Science club, National Honor Society, Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering (WYSE) and student council. He’s also earned 1st place in Chemistry at the WYSE Regional and 2nd place in Chemistry at the WYSE Sectional competitions.
Kevin, son of Ed Ingram and Mindy McBride of Pleasant Plains, was chosen as the November Senior-of-the-Month by faculty and staff based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Kevin plans to major in bioengineering.
The Senior-of-the-Month Program is sponsored by Illinois National Bank. Monthly winners receive a $50 award. They are also in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year Award also sponsored by INB.
