From one employee in an outlying office to a whole team with a presence in booming downtown Champaign, INB is experiencing substantial growth in the Champaign-Urbana market.
But what truly sets us apart is the way we’ve grown: increasing resources, a state-of-the-art branch and better products for our clients – all without sacrificing the customer service that INB is known for throughout Central Illinois.
When INB’s Champaign office first opened in spring 2016, our mortgage and commercial services were more limited as we sought to learn about the area and the needs of local customers. But it didn’t take long for the community to notice what INB brings to the table and our growth has been steady, leading us to make the decision to expand significantly in Champaign-Urbana this year.
We have added a dedicated commercial loan officer in Champaign, Tom Whooley, and by the first quarter of 2018, INB Champaign will be opening a new branch in the bustling downtown area.
Over the last year and a half, many mortgage and commercial customers have asked about opening a checking account or other retail account with INB, and we’re pleased that now we will be able to accommodate these relationships with retail services. Our new branch, to be located at 217 S. Neil, will offer much more convenience for both staff and customers and is within walking distance to the popular restaurants and storefronts that have exploded in the city’s vibrant hub.
“We’ve been in the market for several years, and we’ve seen fantastic growth with a core of loyal customers,” said Evan Westlake, VP, commercial lending whose business includes the Champaign region. “Tom now brings 10 years of lending experience and local relationships, so we’ll be continuing with what we’ve grown and building even more.”
Tom said he was attracted to the bank because of INB’s exceptional reputation in the Champaign market and the potential to help grow local businesses both large and small.
“I wanted to be involved and give back to the community in more meaningful ways, so that’s one of the things that enticed me to join INB,” Tom said. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to help small businesses and municipalities locally. It’s a competitive market for the financial industry, and that’s where relationships really make the difference. At INB, our genuine and transparent relationships with our customers are what set us apart.”
We look forward to complementing the staff we have now with additional retail staff members as we move into our new office; already, INB is proving we hire good fits for our company culture.
As we continue to build business and cultivate relationships in the Champaign area, we strive to provide the customized service of a community bank alongside the quality products of a national bank. So when you’re looking to buy a house or expand your business, you can experience the best of all sides with INB.
From capable, friendly employees to a modern new branch with expanding services – while still retaining our personal customer relationships – INB is certainly growing the right way in Champaign.
