The school year has started, and we have our first 2016-17 Senior of the Month at Mount Pulaski High School. Lukas Aylesworth, son of Richard and Debby Aylesworth, was awarded this honor based on his scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Lukas is now eligible for the $500 Student of the Year Award and scholarship sponsored by INB.
Lukas stays very involved at MPHS. He has been in Future Farmers of America (FFA), Science Olympiad, World Youth in Science and Engineering, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Prom Committee, Legacy Group Leader, and spirit squad. He has also played soccer and basketball. He was class president freshman, sophomore, and junior years and has served as FFA chapter president and 4-H Club president. Outside of school, he is a member of Zion Lutheran’s youth group.
Lukas has won many “student of the year” awards while at Mt. Pulaski High School. They include: biology, introduction to agriculture, PE, anatomy, and U.S. history. He has won first place in chemistry in WYSE and was on homecoming court sophomore and junior year.
He plans to attend a four-year university and study agriculture engineering.
The Senior of the Month Program is sponsored by Johnson True Value Hardware. Monthly award winners receive a $50 award paid to the college they plan to attend.
