Riverton High School senior Olivia Moore will be at Illinois State University in less than six months, pursuing her degree as a nurse. She ultimately plans to earn her credentials as a neonatal nurse practitioner.
The daughter of Monica Flanagan and David Moore, Olivia is an Illinois State Scholar, member of the National Honor Society and winner of the 2016 Rotary Club “This I Believe” essay competition. She won by writing that laughter is so important to life that it “should be something you do every single day.” You can read or listen to Olivia’s full essay.
While in high school, Olivia has participated in soccer, the Yearbook and Spanish clubs and is president of the Key Club. She also has served as both secretary and treasurer for Student Council.
The Riverton High School Student of the Month Award is sponsored by Illinois National Bank (INB). Olivia was chosen for the award by the staff and faculty of RHS based on attendance, academics, effort, conduct, cooperation, dependability, leadership, school involvement, and service to others. She will receive $50 from INB and will be eligible for 2015-2016 Student of the Year honors at graduation.
