Riverton High School’s January Student of the Month is Adina Viele.

Adina, the daughter of Jeff Viele and Shelah Wanless, takes part in concert, treble and jazz choirs at the school.

Adina plans to attend Eastern Illinois University and study secondary education. She hopes to become a high school English teacher.

Outside of school, Adina’s an avid reader who recommends “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak to everyone. She loves to draw and last year won “Artist of the Year” for her two-dimensional art project. She also works at the local IGA.

The Riverton High School Student of the Month Award is sponsored by Illinois National Bank (INB). Adina was chosen for the award by the staff and faculty of RHS based on attendance, academics, effort, conduct, cooperation, dependability, leadership, school involvement, and service to others. She will receive $50 from INB and will be eligible for 2015-2016 Student of the Year honors at graduation.
