Eating at a restaurant is a fun treat for any family, but the expense can start to add up. During sports seasons, our family’s schedule is so full that eating out is sometimes a necessity – but it makes it easier when we can actually save money while dining at a restaurant!
In September alone, our family saved more than $20 at the Old Brickyard Grill and Pub in Mt. Pulaski, which offers 10% off each order through the BaZing program with Illinois National Bank.
INB has partnered with BaZing, a nationwide discount and protection service, to provide specific BaZing features on our checking account products. INB checking account customers simply download the BaZing app on a smartphone to get access to savings from hundreds of national and local businesses and restaurants.*
And I’m not the only INB employee taking advantage of the wonderful offers through BaZing.
Nadine Mackenzie said she loves the food at the Illinois State Fair in August but sometimes wants to avoid the crowds.
“BaZing allowed me to drive to the Cozy Dog Drive In for a delicious corn dog – and I got a second corn dog free. So both my sister and I were able to have dinner together,” she said.
Nadine also indulged in local Chinese food using her BaZing app.
“My diet doesn’t really allow for Chinese food too often, but when my Cheat Day came around, I was craving Sesame Chicken from New China in Riverton,” she said. “My mom said she used a BaZing coupon there so I checked my app. And yes – I saw 10%! Saving money and my craving for Chinese were both satisfied.”
In September, Shelby Wells wanted to stop by Subway for a quick and delicious lunch and was able to use her BaZing app for a Buy One Get One sandwich, saving $4 on her meal.
And Audrey Bellot took advantage of a BaZing offer to celebrate her husband’s birthday when her family decided to go out for ice cream.
“We always go to Cold Stone Creamery, and BaZing had a $1 off any Signature Ice Cream Cone coupon we were able to use,” she said.
Audrey not only uses the BaZing app in the local area, but also found some coupons she could use while traveling.
“While on a weekend getaway in Westmont, Ill., my husband and I came across the Brewed Awakenings Coffeehouse. We had two different coupons, and Brewed Awakenings was kind enough to accept both so we saved a total of $3 on our coffees and muffins. The coffee and muffins are yummy, by the way!” she said.
When Tammy Pratt stopped through Sonic recently, she was able to use two BaZing coupons for a Buy One Get One Free hamburger and one for a free large drink.
“The manager was happy to let me use the coupons and was pleased to know about them,” Tammy said. “He even asked how to get the BaZing app for himself!”
As for my own family, we love to support the local restaurants in my hometown of Mt. Pulaski, and I was excited to realize that through the BaZing program, our savings were actually adding up while we enjoyed meals out with family and friends.
Because we eat out often, in July, we saved almost $21 at the Farmer’s Family Restaurant, taking advantage of a free drink ($1.89 value) with the purchase of a meal. And when my husband recently took me to lunch at Calm Creek Cafe, we saved $3 on our date. I love savings like that!
