During her sophomore and junior years, awards included being named an AP all-state honorable mention and recognition by the Springfield State Journal-Register on its All-Area team.
In addition to sports and school work, Skylar found time for student council and Spanish club, even traveling to Spain and Cost Rica as part of the exchange programs through MPHS.
Skylar has committed to attend the University of Illinois Springfield and play basketball. She plans to major in political science and government (pre law).
The senior of the month is selected for this honor based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character and is sponsored by Conaway Handyman Service and Downing, Przykopanski, Clements, & May Insurance Agency, Inc. Winners are also in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year award sponsored by INB.
