The January Senior of the month at Mount Pulaski High School (MPHS) is Garrett Skelton. He enjoys being involved in school sports and activities. He has been a member of the track, football, soccer, and baseball teams. He is also an active member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA,) where he currently serves as chapter president. He is also president of the Parliamentary Procedure team. Garrett also participates in Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering Program (WYSE) Olympiad.

In 2017, Garrett earned a silver medal at the state and national level for parliamentary procedure through FCCLA. He also took second in chemistry regionals at WYSE.

Garrett plans to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and study chemistry or engineering, He was selected for this honor based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Garrett is the son of Ashley Skelton of Mt. Pulaski.
