Riverton Senior, APL Volunteer Plans to Pursue Veterinarian Degree

Mackenzie Prindle, senior at Riverton High School, loves animals and volunteers regularly with the Animal Protective League in Springfield. She plans to major in Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign in the fall. She hopes to become a veterinarian. Mackenzie is the February student of the month for Riverton.
She is also a member of student council, National Honor Society and Hawk Pride. Mackenzie spends extra time tutoring fellow students. She is an Illinois State Scholar, superior honor roll recipient, Sangamon County student of the month and the NPR Illinois essay winner.
Mackenzie was chosen for the February honor by faculty and staff based on attendance, academics, effort, conduct, cooperation, dependability, leadership, school involvement, and service to others. Mackenzie is the daughter of Stephanie and Brian Prindle of Spaulding.
The Student-of-the-Month Program is sponsored by Illinois National Bank. Monthly winners receive a $50 award. They are also in the running for the $500 Student-of-the-Year Award also sponsored by INB.
