Active School Life Leads to Recognition

Lorenne Wilham, daughter of Sarah and Josh Wilham of Mt. Pulaski, has been named May Senior-of-the-Month at Mount Pulaski High School.
Lorenne has taken advantage of all MPHS has to offer. She’s been a member of the art club and band for four years, scholastic bowl and choir club for three years, Drama Club, NHS, World Wide Youth in Science and Engineering (WYSE), Science Olympiad, and Spanish Club for two years. She also served a year as an officer for Spanish Club. While busy at school, she worked at the Elkhart Public Library as a circulation clerk. She is part of the youth group and is a nursing volunteer at Mt. Pulaski Christian Church.
Awards have come with her skill and hard work. Lorenne earned second place in the “Write it, Do it” Science Olympiad competition. She was a member of the homecoming court her sophomore year and Art 2 Student of the Year her junior year.
Lorenne plans to attend Olivet Nazarene University. She is majoring in interior design with a minor in art.
“Of the month” winners are selected based on scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored by Conaway Handyman Service and Downing, Przykopanski, Clements, & May Insurance Agency, Inc.. Lorenne is in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year award sponsored by INB.
