INB is proud to sponsor the Pleasant Plains High School Senior of the Month and Senior of the Year Program. Here’s a roundup of students who have earned “of the month” honors since September. These students were selected by the school based on scholarship, leadership, service and character.
October 2019
Heidi Hergenrother
Heidi Hergenrother, daughter of Kurt and Andrea Hergenrother of Pleasant Plains, was named October-Senior-of-the-Month.
Heidi has been active in basketball, cross country, track and Beta Club throughout her high school career. She is an accomplished athlete having competed multiple times in the 4 × 400 meter relay and cross country track. Heidi was named to the all-conference team for basketball three years; plus, for two years, she was part of her school’s team attending the Sangamon County basketball tournament.
Heidi is an accomplished artist having received an honorable mention at the scholastic art fair as well at receiving a 5th place in the New Berlin Art Show. Heidi also volunteers in her community.
Heidi plans to attend Illinois State University to study communication sciences and disorders.
November 2019
Corgan Greer
Corgan Greer, son of Dave and Heather Greer of Springfield, was named November-Senior-of-the-Month.
Corgan is a three-sport athlete playing basketball, football and baseball. He has participated in the Sangamo Conference for baseball for three years and was also an all-state in basketball. He also plays on the Pleasant Plains High School football team.
Corgan plans to attend Lincoln Land Community College to study criminal justice and play baseball.
December 2020
Adrianna Kanllakan
Adrianna Kanllakan, daughter of Gregory and Wendy Kanllakan of Springfield, was named December-Senior-of-the-Month.
Adrianna plays basketball and volleyball as well as plays for Top Notch Volleyball Club. She was on the PPHS volleyball team when they won the state championship title, and she was on the Sangamo All-Conference Third Team.
Adrianna is involved in Beta Club, Science Club and mentors younger students as a member of Cardinals Ambassadors.
Adrianna is an Illinois State Scholar, a member of National Honor Society and plans to major in chemical engineering.
January 2020
Macy Kanllakan
Macy Kanllakan, daughter of Gregory and Wendy Kanllakan, was named January-Senior-of-the-Month.
Macy is a member of the basketball and volleyball teams. She also is a member of National Honor Society, Science Club, Cardinal Ambassadors, Beta Club and she’s an Illinois State Scholar.
She was on the team which won a state championship for volleyball along with two Sangamo County and Sangamon County Conference titles on the varsity team. She was then third team All-Conference. In basketball; she also has a state championship title and three Sangamo County and Sangamon Conference titles.
She plans on attending University of Missouri and majoring in actuarial science.
February 2020
Alexandra Fraase
Alexandra Fraase, daughter of Timothy and Kelly Fraase of Springfield, was named February-Senior-of-the-Month.
Alexandra is a member of the soccer, basketball and volleyball teams. She participated on the volleyball team during the 2A State Championship in 2018 and on the basketball 2A State Championship in 2020.
She is active in many groups and clubs: Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering, National Honor Society, Springfield Area Soccer Association, Science Club, youth groups and Future Farmers of America. She’s been class president and vice-president of the Beta Club, Springfield Area Soccer Association, Science Club, youth groups and Future Farmers of America.
Alexandra also is involved in the community as a volunteer at local kiddie camps, Concordia Village retirement community and Rotary Park Concessions.
Alexandra plans to attend Lincoln Land Community College to major in nursing and play soccer.
