For Amanda Donley, one of the best parts about her career at INB has been the opportunity to learn about many different areas of the bank so she can better serve customers.
“The culture at INB is one where you are allowed to learn and grow and really make a difference for the customers. That’s the most rewarding part of my job,” she shares.
When Amanda started working for INB in November 2007 as a full-time teller, she quickly realized she wanted a long career at the bank. And we’re thrilled to announce that Amanda has recently been promoted to branch manager for INB’s Chatham Branch.
Amanda’s path with INB has taken her from teller supervisor to universal banker and more. Throughout those roles, she said she’s “learned more about banking than I ever thought I would.”
Learning and Taking on New Responsibilities
In 2015, she was ready to “dive in deeper” and was promoted to a universal banker in Chatham. This position allowed her to continue to work on the teller line with the customers she had come to know, as well as help them open a checking account or start a savings account.
Amanda became assistant branch manager in Chatham in 2017, ensuring that branch operations were running smoothly and coaching the teller team.
“I learned that I loved teaching and mentoring,” she says. “I really took that on as a project for myself to create new ways to teach them because everyone learns differently.
“My manager, Kelly Raison, coached and prepared me for my next position with INB. She always said, ‘Train for the position you want, not the one you have’.”
Back Home at Chatham Branch
2019 took Amanda to INB’s Montvale branch and then Wabash branch – both while in the same position, giving her the opportunity to learn in a new environment.
“Every branch has different customer needs, so I was able to get different experiences that I didn’t get while working in Chatham; it was a wonderful learning experience for me,” she says.
Amanda’s most recent promotion to branch manager feels like “coming home.” Her long-term goal was to become a branch manager, and she knew Chatham’s branch was the place for her.
“I know most of the customers still, and they’ve been happy to see me back,” she said. “They know they can rely on me to help them just like I did before.”
Being in a supervisor role is a natural fit for Amanda, who has found that she thrives while working with a team and being able to assist others.
“I have coworkers and other department staff reach out to me with questions or just to get a second opinion. I love being able to help them, as well as customers,” she says. “This promotion was a perfect fit.”
Amanda’s NMLS is #1560034.
