At one point in her career, Theresa Adams thought she wanted a change in banking departments. But her work came full circle.
Theresa started her banking career in 1994 as a proof operator and file clerk. She began with INB in April 2000 in the Deposit Operations Department.
Although she shifted gears and spent about five years in accounting, she eventually moved back to Deposit Operations, where she has been a pillar of leadership in the department.
“I love the people I work with,” Theresa says. “The world of ACH has evolved a lot and grown more complex, but I’ve learned a lot and love being able to organize things in a more efficient way to run the department. I’m always looking for more efficient ways to make the job easier.”
Because of her hard work over the years, Theresa has earned a new promotion, to Deposit Operations Specialist and INB Officer.
Theresa now has 11 years of ACH (Automated Clearing House) experience. ACH payment include any electronic funds transfer made between banks and credit unions using the ACH network. ACH is used for all kinds of fund transfer transactions, including direct deposit of paychecks and monthly debits for routine payments.
Job Grew as Automated Payments Increased
Before her promotion, Theresa role as INB’s ACH administrator became more crucial as the payments industry grew. INB’s ACH originators have grown by 96% in the past five years. Theresa also led the ACH team of two process more than 75,000 ACH files in 2022.
With Theresa’s knowledge, focus to detail, work ethic and loyalty to INB, our ACH files are processed efficiently and within all compliance regulations. While Theresa has been our ACH administrator, all of our ACH audits have been extremely successful with little to no findings or recommendations.
Recognized for Good Work
Personally, I’ve seen firsthand on many occasions how much our business ACH customers and fellow employees enjoy working with Theresa.
Theresa notes INB has been a great fit for her, and she looks forward to stepping into her new role.
“INB has allowed me to learn and grow in my current job and the other departments I’ve worked in; I feel like I’ve been challenged to do more than my best,” she shares. “My promotion makes me feel like I’ve been seen and acknowledged for all the work I’ve put in.”
Theresa is a tremendous asset to Deposit Operations, and we’re pleased that she’s now a bank officer. Congratulations Theresa!
