After working in banking for more than 20 years, Diane Kindred thought she’d like to try something different. So she left the bank she was at and went to work for a small business.
It only took six months for Diane to realize she missed banking so much that she knew she wanted to return. “I really missed having customer contact and decided to get back into banking. I’ve been at INB ever since,” she says.
Now that Diane has worked at INB for 15 years, she’s preparing to say goodbye to banking again… but this time, she’s not going to work anywhere else – she’s retiring!
Diane initially started as a relationship banker for INB, before she eventually moved to Senior Teller. She’s now spent 37 years total in banking and has seen many changes over the years. What stands out to her is the creation and evolution in online banking, the way debit cards are being used and many more technological advances.
But it’s the INB customers who really made an impact on her. She was particularly fond of helping students prepare to go off to college. “I always enjoyed talking to them about their dreams and achievements for their future, wishing them good luck and telling them to enjoy college and to hold onto their dreams; that was so rewarding to me,” she recalls.
We will certainly miss Diane’s friendly disposition and commendable customer service when she retires on June 30!
As for Diane, we know she’ll miss her customers and coworkers, but she has a lot of exciting and relaxing plans laid out for her time in retirement. “I plan on traveling, gardening, and being able to do more activities with my grandchildren. And whatever else comes up!” she says.
Congratulations on your retirement, Diane!
