Phil Raso calls Peoria home, and he is now helping others in the Peoria area buy new homes in his new job as an INB mortgage lender. Phil joins veterans Stacy (Borho) Wolak and Karen Cabrera, all working out of INB’s Peoria Branch, 7235 N. Knoxville Ave.

Since graduating from Bradley University, Phil has worked in sales or marketing. He completed the mortgage licensing exam earlier this year and is thrilled now to be navigating people through one of life's most significant financial decisions. His experience, coupled with managing rental properties, means Phil brings a unique skill set to INB.
He adds, “My ability to understand clients' needs and negotiate effectively positions me as a valuable asset to anyone looking for a mortgage loan.” He adds he has always had an interest in finance and real estate, and becoming a loan officer allows him to combine these interests with his passion for assisting others.
“It's rewarding to see clients achieve their homeownership dreams, knowing that I played a part in making those dreams a reality,” he adds.
INB Provides Outlet for Helping Others
Phil chose to join INB as a mortgage lender because of the bank’s reputation for exceptional customer service and community involvement. “I wanted to be part of a team that not only values the financial well-being of its customers, but also contributes positively to the community. INB’s commitment to personalized service aligns with my belief in the importance of tailored financial solutions for everyone’s unique situation.
“In my role, I hope to empower people by providing them with the knowledge and options they need to make informed decisions about their mortgages. I am here to guide them through the process with ease and clarity, ensuring they feel confident and secure in their choices . . . I aim to become a trusted advisor they can always count on for honest and reliable financial advice.”
Current Market Requires Transparency, Communication and Reliability
Phil recognizes the challenges facing mortgage lenders today, from navigating volatile interest rates to adapting to rapid technological changes. However, he remains committed to staying informed and embracing digital tools. By prioritizing transparency, communication, and reliability, Phil aims to overcome challenges and build strong relationships with clients.
Despite growing up in Chicago, Phil has made Peoria his home since his college days. He appreciates the city’s balance of vibrancy and tranquility. He is a trustee on the Dunlap Village board. “The village position allows me to give back to the community by being a part of the decision-making process on local issues. It's important to me to contribute to shaping the community in a positive way, helping to create a great place for all residents to live.”
Phil's family, including his wife Frandy and two adult children, David, and Adam, are his greatest source of pride and support.
Phil’s favorite dad joke:
“I only know 25 letters of the alphabet. I don't know y.”
Phil's passion for magic adds an extra dimension to his personality. “I'm a past president of the Peoria Magicians Assembly, an experience that was incredibly fulfilling both personally and professionally. It allowed me to perform for people from all walks of life, spreading a sense of wonder and joy through magic and mind-reading. I hope my civic involvement reflects my commitment to the community and my desire to make a meaningful impact beyond my professional duties.”
“If I had the chance to swap lives with someone for a day, it would be with David Copperfield. As someone with a deep interest in magic, stepping into the shoes of one of the world's most legendary magicians would be incredible. To perform on a Las Vegas stage, would be an amazing experience. Being part of a magicians' assembly has given me a taste for magic, but taking on the role of David Copperfield for a day would be a whole experience.”
