Since INB’s inception in 1999, management saw the potential for growth on Springfield’s west side, says Sarah Phalen, INB President and CEO. Today’s Branch Leader: Karyssa Pedersen
Karyssa Pedersen’s journey at INB is like the West Wabash Branch itself: both started with potential and quickly showed they could do more. Starting as a teller, Karyssa’s drive to make a difference led her to move to the West Wabash branch at just 21 years old. She embraced new challenges, transitioned into a banker role, and is now the branch manager.
“I love the people I work with,” Karyssa shares. “My mentors, the bank as a whole, and our customers really make my day. I love coming to work to help people.”
Customers can expect a warm, welcoming environment and prompt, personalized service, Karyssa says. “Our team tailors products to meet each customer’s needs. We strive to build lasting relationships and create bonds that keep customers coming back for any need they have.”
Mortgage Lender Focuses on Relationships
With 23 years of mortgage lending experience—11 of those with INB—Todd Weir has built a reputation for making home financing smooth and approachable. For Todd, the West Wabash branch has always been the perfect fit.
“I wanted to be on Wabash because everything happens out here,” Todd says. “It’s close to all the real estate companies and in the middle of everything. It’s easy for my customers.”
Todd emphasizes the collaborative environment at the branch. “We take care of one another, so the customer is never inconvenienced. I can easily connect customers with the right people, making for a seamless transition from mortgage services to personal banking. Our products and services provide the whole package.”
He continues, “We operate like a big bank, but it’s easy here to treat people how they want to be treated. We make banking easy. From wire transfers to account assistance, we have all the financial services customers need under one roof.”
Todd also highlights the importance of combining modern convenience with personal touch. “More and more of what we do is online or over the phone, but I encourage face-to-face interactions. The detailed, documented mortgage process can be intimidating, but we strive to make it enjoyable and personal.”
