A newsletter article caught the attention of Allie Reeves while she was working as a banker at another local bank. She read about the new Interactive Teller Machines (ITM) at INB with growing interest.

“Being a retail bank employee, I was curious about what the future of banking would look like,” she said.
Realizing that INB is at the forefront with this technology, Allie decided to join the INB team of interactive tellers.
ITMs Combine Technology and Personal Service
An Interactive Teller Machine (also called a Video Teller Machine, or VTM) uses a combination of touch screens and video technology to offer a virtual version of the in-person banking experience.
Almost all Illinois INB locations now have an ITM. The only exceptions are our Fairmount and Champaign branches. You can complete many banking tasks at an ITM like depositing checks and making loan payments. And if you need help, you’ll be able to talk to one of our video tellers via the screen during from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 9 – noon on Saturday.
“I love that we are able to conveniently help our customers through the ITMs by combining new technology with the personal touch of having a local teller on the other end of the machine,” Allie shares. “Working in banking, especially with the new ITM technology, provides me with the opportunity to truly make a difference in someone’s day.”
Meet the ITM Team
Alongside Allie, INB has three other interactive tellers assisting customers: Taylor Stovall, Evy Redmon and Felicia Major. While Taylor didn’t have a background in banking when she joined INB, she was no stranger to customer service.
Taylor, a graduate of cosmetology school, initially moved to Springfield from Normal when she got a job in a salon. However, two years into her career, she realized it wasn’t a good fit for her lifelong goals. That’s when she came across a teller position at INB’s Dirksen branch.
“I was so nervous for the interview, but the INB team made me feel comfortable and confident during the process. When they called me to tell me I got the job, I was thrilled to start a new chapter,” she recalls. After working for 1.5 years at the Dirksen branch, Taylor then seized the opportunity to be part of the first ITM teller team.
“It’s been a lot of fun, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me,” Taylor says. “One of my favorite things about working here is my coworkers; they are all amazing people, and I’m grateful to work with them.”
Evy, a Springfield native, was looking for a job she could do while taking college classes. She served as a float teller for a couple of years, filling in at various INB branches. With her deep knowledge of branch operations, she was then asked to join the ITM team.
“I was familiar with many of the customers at different branches, so being an ITM teller, I still get to see all of the customers that go to the different branches – just through a screen now!” she says. “It is so cool to see how happy the customers get when they figure out how to use the machines and being able to hear how much they like ITMs. And working with the other ITM tellers has been such a fun experience.”
Felicia was encouraged to get into banking by multiple family members who have worked in the industry. And she jumped at the chance to join the ITM team for INB. “The ITM position is what drew me to INB, and I truly enjoy helping our customers,” she says.
Creativity + Problem Solving = Great Customer Service
The dynamic ITM crew is also a creative bunch — which is not surprising given their desire to think out of the box and adapt quickly to new technology!
Taylor and Allie are both passionate about art; they both love painting and drawing. Felicia’s hobbies are singing, dancing, and K-pop. Music is a draw for Taylor, too, who can often be found at local music events, like the Levitt concert series during the summer, as well as art and craft shows. Felicia and Taylor both enjoy video games, which is certainly relevant to their willingness to troubleshoot and solve problems.
We’re excited about the expansion of ITMs at our INB locations, and we’re confident that this hardworking team will make banking easier for our customers with this technology.
“I believe that ITMs are the future of banking,” Allie says. “I love that INB is not afraid to try new things to improve the customer experience.”
