A golf trip brought Gil Rosado to Orlando in March 2001 – and when it was time to head home to Rochester, NY, Gil was reluctant to return to the snow and freezing temps. “I thought, ‘I need to move to Florida!’” he laughs.

As it so happened, the bank where he was working at that time was opening new offices in Florida, so Gil jumped at the chance to relocate his family.
Now, Gil is jumping on a new opportunity: he’s taking on a new role as Vice President, Business Solutions for INB Miami.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to blow this place up! INB can make a big difference here in Miami,” he shares.
A Banking Career Built on Relationships
While Gil spent the majority of his years growing up in Rochester NY, he was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico.
“We moved back to Puerto Rico when I was in 3rd grade for 2 years, and then decided to come back to Rochester. I definitely remember landing in New York City with no coats!” he recalls with a laugh.
Gil’s banking career began thanks to his sister, who encouraged him to apply for a teller position at the bank she worked at while he was attending Monroe Community College. After a couple of summers there, he eventually joined full-time and quickly was chosen to be part of the manager training program, where he delved into branch operations, collections and more.
Following that program, Gil became a business development officer for several years and then tried his hand at treasury management.
That’s when the golf trip turned into a big Florida move, and Gil found his way to Miami. Once he bought a house in nearby Pembroke Pines, his family joined him from New York.
Although Gil worked at an international financial institution HSBC for 26 years, his banking start was at a regional bank similar to INB – and he is excited to return to this type of banking.
“We have a thousand banks here, but people are tired of dealing with those kinds of banks. They want to go back to the way people used to bank, which is relationships,” he says. “That’s what I’m experiencing right now with INB. I called some former customers and told them I’m here, so they did their research and said ‘hey, that’s a great bank’.”
In his new role in Business Solutions, Gil describes himself as a hybrid between treasury management and business development.
“I believe INB’s treasury management is second to none when it comes to services we have and products we offer,” he says. “After I had a conversation with INB about the opportunity here, I went to the bank’s website and realized they have all their i’s dotted and t’s crossed. I toured all the facilities in Springfield and was so impressed, and everybody has been so welcoming.”
Fairways and Family Time
When he’s not working, you can usually find Gil on the golf course. Though he was an avid tennis player in his early days, a colleague convinced him – during a stint in mortgages – to pick up golf because “all the realtors play golf.” What began as a reluctant hobby soon became a passion — and today, golf is one of Gil’s favorite pastimes.
Gil and his wife also enjoy cruising. “Before COVID, we were taking 6 to 8 cruises a year. Being 30 minutes from ports in both Miami and Fort Lauderdale, we’d call in the morning, find an open cabin, and be ready to board that afternoon,” he says.
Family is a big part of Gil’s life: his wife is a reading specialist at a charter school, his daughter is a Navy Lieutenant Commander, and his son is a PGA teaching professional. Gil is also active in his condo association, local chambers, and professional groups like Florida ACG Capital Connection.
Gil is excited about this next step in his career – and even just a few days into his new role, he knew he’d found the right fit thanks to the great INB team. When a customer issue came up, he was able to call Jamie Singer in INB’s Deposit Operations and quickly resolve it.
“I know INB wants us to succeed and put backing behind us,” he says. “That’s the type of bank I want to work for.”
