We hit $1,451 in our Touchdowns for the Table campaign last weekend following two post-season games broadcast on Sports Radio 1450 and 96.7 The Boss.
The scores were:
Rochester 52
Civic Memorial 7
SHG 57
Normal West 20
At the end of the high school football season, INB will make a $1 donation for each point scored. We’ll divide the total between three organizations which help make sure everyone has food during the holiday season. The charities are:
- Friend-in-Deed, providing food at Christmas for needy families in the Springfield area and also makes funds available year-round in the form of cash grants to families who need disaster relief.
- Kids Café, a partnership between the Springfield Urban League and the Central Illinois Foodbank, feeds 75-100 children each day. The money raised through Touchdowns for the Table will be used by INB employees to provide each child with nutritious snacks over spring break.
- St. Martin de Porres’ mission is to lovingly serve the needy with dignity. The agency provides food to over 140 families each day it is open.
Good luck to area teams as they work to reach the state football finals Nov. 25 and 26 in Champaign.
