INB is donating $1,871 to be split between Friend-in-Deed, St. Martin dePorres and the Central Illinois Foodbank’s Kid’s Café. The $624 donation to each organization will help put food on the tables of families in need and was made possible through “Touchdowns for the Table,” a challenge to local high school football teams whose game were broadcast on Sports Radio 1450 or 96.7 The Boss.
The challenge was simple: INB would donate $1 for every point scored, for every broadcast game. With local teams going all the way to state championship games, the final tally couldn’t have been much higher! One weekend, the score of two games reached 150 points. The total points for 13 weeks of high school football was 1,871.
Bank President and CEO Sarah Phalen says, “We’re very proud of all our local high school sports teams. The boys work so hard to put on an exciting game for their fans each weekend. INB employees were cheering each and every point scored, knowing we’d be helping three outstanding organizations feed more families in need this holiday season.”
She adds: “Having fun and raising money. We’ll be up to that challenge again next year.”
