Allen Brinkman came to INB with over 25 years of banking experience.

The majority of his career was spent with two banks. SunTrust and Wachovia. Prior to joining INB, he served as president and CEO of Sun Trust Bank’s Florida division. 

He says these large financial institutions have inherent benefits, but over the past 15 years, the environment changed, leading to a loss of client and employee loyalty and corporate culture.

Allen expounds: “Over the course of my banking career, I have learned to understand what matters most to me, what my true purpose and responsibilities are as a banker, and how I can assert them effectively. When you are able to clearly identify what it is you are hoping to achieve, and when you juxtapose that with what you are doing, you decide to act.” Allen’s “action” was to join INB and bring a group of successful, experienced lenders with him.

Allen has chaired the board of the Tampa Bay Partnership and Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development.  He has served as a board member for many other civic groups such as the University of Florida and Junior Achievement.   

Today, Allen’s community work involves helping underprivileged and under-resourced youth in addition to raising four boys.
