Nathan can answer just about any question thrown at him. And if he can’t, he can direct you to the right person.
This much-appreciated ability has turned customers into “personal connections” for Nathan. He says, “I do feel good when I’m able to help a customer resolve a problem and they are appreciative. I have made many personal connections (for lack of better term) over the years, and those customers call me directly for just about any banking need. Even if I can’t help them directly, they know I will steer them to the correct person.”
Nathan can do this thanks to his work for so many parts of the bank. As deposit operations officer, he works with internet banking and business banking employees, as well as manages our debit cards and business credit cards.
While being dad to two amazing daughters is his proudest claim to fame, Nate is also proud of his heritage. He graduated from Pleasant Plains High School and is now raising his kids in the Pleasant Plains community with the help of his wife, INB employee Lindsay Van Zele.
After high school and while in college, Nathan worked part-time for Independent Bankers Bank sorting mail and “other duties as assigned.” Once he graduated from the University of Illinois-Springfield with degree in Business Administration, he took a job in the ACH department of Bank One (now Chase) where he handled direct debits and payroll, among other things. He took a position with INB in June of 2004 in the Internet Banking Department. Since then, he’s taken on many other duties related to retail and business customers.
