Tom Gihl serves as INB’s Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), with a focus on commercial sales. 

Tom held the position of Chief Operating Officer, responsible for technology, security, and day-to-day oversight of government and corporate customers, from the time the bank opened in 1999 until mid 2022 when he began focussing primarily on sales.

Before helping establish INB, Tom worked for National City Bank as a senior vice president/ Illinois manager for corporate and government Cash Management sales.

Tom secured this job after successfully serving as vice president, cash management in the mid 1990s for National City and its predecessor First of America Bank. He oversaw the development of the banking solution used to distribute public aid benefits via ATMs. The first decade of Tom’s banking career was spent at the original Illinois National Bank where he gained experience in investment portfolio management, corporate trust, correspondent banking and cash management.

Tom is a proponent of continuing education, and works to assure all bank employees stay current on banking trends and technology and security advancements. His own formal education includes:

• School of Funds Management certification
